1. The color of the leaves is a Physical Property. Physical properties tell us about the appearance of a substance or mixture.

2. The wood turning black from fire is a Chemical Property. Chemical Property is a property used to characterize materials in reactions that change their identity.

3. The melting of ice to water is a Physical Change. The ice is made up of H2O, and when it melts to water, it is still made up of H2O. Phase changes are considered physical changes.

4. When this iron nail is left out, oxygen mixes with the iron, forming rust and making a Chemical Change. No matter is either lost nor gained during a chemical change.
